YOUNG BOYS v GRASSHOPPERS – SWITZERLAND SUPER LEAGUE
February 6 2016, Stade de Suisse, 19:00 GMT+0
Second half of Switzerland league is here and even though the race for league champion is over, as Basel is 10 points ahead of 2nd placed Grasshoppers, the fight for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place is still going on. This match is very important for both teams, as the 2nd place is a ticket to Champions league qualifications, and even though Grasshoppers are currently on 2nd place with 5 points advantage, it can all change quickly.
The Young boys had a hard time at the start of the season, changing coach, injuries, being knocked out of champions league qualifications, Europa league and Swiss cup..
Things got better for for them , as new strikers arrived. Philipp Zulechner came from Freiburg on a loan and Yoric Ravet joined from Grasshoppers. Also Hoarau is fit again and will be able to play with his team. The strikers showed good form in recent friendlies.
Before the league break, Young Boys had 7 injured players, but now the things are better, with only Seferi being sidelined. So it’s good news for the coach, who will have full squad available.
The visitors tend to sell more players, than they buy, so the squad size is currently 23. As for their striker Yoric Ravet joined Young Boys, as mentioned before. Grasshoppers will miss 2 key players, Alban Pnishi and Benjamin Luthi are both injured, same goes for Manuel Kubli. Philippe Sanderos and Tarashaj’s apperance are both doubtful today.
These two teams faced off each other once already, and the match ended up in 3:1 for the Young Boys. Now with the Young Boys being without injuries and their strikers showing great form, we can see this match ending like the last H2H in October, in a win for Young Boys.
