VALENCIENNES v METZ – FRANCE LIGUE TWO
January 18. Stade de Hainaut, Valenciennes, 19:30 GMT+0
Valencieness are currently in 17th position, 1 point from relegation zone, and looking by the recent results they will end in the relegation zone, if they do not improve. They have not won a match since November, when they played against Brest (1:2) and are currently without a win playing at home.
The bad performances are not the only thing that need improvement in the team. Valenciennes have changed their coach David Le Frapper due to sexist coments he made to referee, now the head coach is Faruk Hadzibegic, and this will be his 1st match leading his new team.
The visitors Metz are on 5th palce, and winning this one will put them on 3rd place, and what better way to get 3 points that playing against a team that has yet won playing at home. Metz had 3 consecutive losses against Red star (3:1), Dijon (1:2) and Tours (2:0) bu managed to win their last match against Sochaux (1:0).
Not only the guests, but Metz has also changed coach after sacking Jose Riga. Now in charge Philippe Hinschberger has won his debut against Sochaux even though Metz played withouth Jose Luis Palomino, who was sent off in 43′.
Missing players vise, Valenciennes will miss Saliou Ciss, Edouard Butin, Adil Azbague, Opa Nguette and Mouhamadou Ndao and the visitors will have to play withouth Daniel Candeias, Guido Milan, Kevin Lejeune and Cheick Doukoure
All in all Metz seems as a favourite here, going against a side that is terrible playing in front of their own fans and with a new coach, Valenciennes will have a tough task today.
Prediction : Metz -0.25
Odds: 2.05 Pinnacle
