St. Patrick’s Athletic vs Dundalk – League of Ireland
24.3.2016, Richmond Park, 19:45 GMT +0
St. Patrick’s Athletic are coming into this match from an impressive win against Shamrock Rowers(0-2). Although The Pat’s started this season with a loss against Galway, they managed to get back on their feet and win all their games to this day, including two big Dublin derbies against Bohemians(3-0) and Shamrock Rowers(0-2). Anyway, since their their opening day defeat, they managed to win all three games, without conceding a single goal, and that all that matters. St Pat’s still have a couple of players unavailable. Bayly is still injured and Hoare in on international duty with the Irish U21 team. McGrath and Barker are back in training, but they most likely wont play tonight.
On the other side, we have last year’s champions, Dundalk. Last week Stephen Kenny’s men were beaten by Cork in Dundalk’s first defeat in the league in almost a year! Although Dundalk were playing well against Cork, they somehow failed to finish their attacks. The game was won with a penalty kick awarded to Cork(1-0). They also lost attacking midfielder Patrick McEleney to the hamstring injury last weekend. Otherwise, Dundalk are at full strength ahead of this match and this will be the perfect opportunity to boost morale after last weeks defeat.
I expect Dundalk to dominate this match tonight. They are playing well at the moment, and their team is way stronger than the St. Patrick’s one. I expect a game with a lot of goals and at the end Dundalk will probably take all three points. But since its an away game, I will choose -0.25 AH to secure the draw.
