ST GALLEN v GRASSHOPPERS – SWISS SUPER LEAGUE
March 5 2016, AFG Arena, 19:00 GMT+0
St. Gallen is currently on 6th place in Swiss Super League, but don’t let that fool you, as they are only 7 points ahead of Vaduz, who is at the bottom of the table and 9 points behind today’s opponents. Swiss league is close this season and with 14 games to go there is much room for changes in table positions, except Basel who will most likely finish at the 1st spot, with 15 points lead they are almost unreachable. Despite that I don’t see the home side climbing up the table until the end of the season as they are only average in my eyes.
The home side is a average team at most, they are coming from a draw against Lugano (3:3), where they were lucky that the visitors missed a 83′ penalty. In all fairness I believe St Gallen did not deserve to win nor to draw as they showed nothing special.
Angha, Tafer (2nd best scorer), Russo, Mathys, Eisenring, Dziwniel and Lasser are all missing for the home side today.
Grasshoppers have surprised us all this season and are currently on 2nd place in the league and will have to fight to stay there against Young Boys, who are closely behind.
The last match up between these two at AFG Arena ended in a win for the visitors (0:2). Looking at today’s match I don’t see the score line to be much different as it was in August.
Despite a draw last week for Grasshoppers I believe they will have a great chance to bounce back and with fully available squad they are favourites.
Prediction: Grasshoppers +0
Odds: 1.77 Pinnacle
