Seattle Seahawks v Miami Dolphins – NFL

Seattle Seahawks v Miami Dolphins

Miami lost some key players, including running back Lamar Miller, defensive end Olivier Vernon, cornerback Brent Grimes, receiver Rishard Matthews. Most of these were key players and it will be interesting to see how they kope without them this season. They managed to sign two agent free veterans, defensive end Mario Williams and running back Arian Foster. They also improved their defence, with signing linebacker Kiko Alonso and cornerback Byron Maxwell, both from Philadelphia Eagles.

As far as the preseason goes, they recorded two wins against New York Giants(10:27)  and Atlanta Falcons(17:6), while they lost to Dallas Cowboys(41:14) and Tennessee Titans(10:21).

Last season Miami’s six wins came from matches with low ranked teams, while most of their defeats were by more than 10 points. They only managed to reach the playoffs twice over the last 15 seasons, with its last appearance coming in 2008. This season they have even weaker squad, so their chances of reaching playoffs are slim to none.

Seattle may have the most talented roster in the whole league, but their offensive line is one of the worst in the league. Four of their projected starters had an overall grade of 49.9 or lower last season, only exception being their first draft pick Germain Ifedi. If they can get their offensive line in order, they can be one of the main contenders to win the Super Bowl.

In the preseason, they managed to win against Kansas City Chiefs(16:17), Dallas Cowboys(27:17) and Oakland Raiders(21:23), while they lost the Minnesota Vikings(11:18).

Seahawks were quite active on the transfer market, bringing in 15 rookies. It is expected than rookies like Jarran Reed, Quinton Jefferson and C.J. Prosise will all play on opening day. They also lost some players, Bruce Irvin signed with Oakland Raiders, Russell Okung joined Denver Broncos and defensive tackle Brandon Mebane left for the San Diego Chargers. Their biggest lost is probably running back Marshawn Lynch, who retired at the end of the last season.

If Seattle manages to fix their front line issues, they will be dangerous. Thomas Rawls and Christine Michael and both solid backs to replace Marshawn Lynch, while Russell Wilson is still one of the top quarterbacks in the league. They should have a great start of the season against, weaker than previous season, Miami Dolphins.
