SASSUOLO v TORINO – SERIE A
January 20 2016, Alberto Braglia Staduim, 19:45 GMT+0
In the last match of 20th round, 7th placed Sassuolo will host 11th placed Torino, who is 6 points behind their today’s opponents.
Sassuolo is playing very well this season, and that brought them to 7th place and with a win they will climb to 6th place, 1 point behind Europa league qualification spot and I would not be surprised if they manage to do so, because they are showing they can compete with the best teams in Serie A. Winning against Inter (0:1) on the road and drawing against Fiorentina at home only proves my point. The win against Inter did come from a late penalty in 5th minute of added time in 2nd half, but Sassuolo did put up a great fight.
For Sassuolo only 2 players will be missing this match due to injury; Terranova and Floro Flores, whereas a key players Bernardi and Cannavaro are back on the pitch.
The visitors Torino had 3 consecutive losses in the league against Udinese (0:1), Napoli (2:1) and Empoli (0:1) and then won in their last match on Saturday against Frosinone (4:2), but I do not find that win as something spectacular, as Frosinone is the worst team in Serie A when it comes to away games. A team that has 10 away games and 8 losses is not what you call a tough opponent.
Looking at Torino away matches they are not that good with a record 2-1-5 they do not seem as a tough opponent for Sassuolo who has yet to lose at home (4-4-0).
Torino will have to play withouth; Obi, Pryyma, Jansson, Lopez, Avelar, Prcic and Peres.
In conclusion I am giving an edge to Sassuolo, who will surely want to win this match and taking into consideration they have not played a match in 2 weeks their players should be rested and ready to put up a fight for a possible Europa League spot.
Prediction: Sassuolo -0.25
Odds: 2.18 Pinnacle
