San Antonio Stars v Connecticut Sun - WNBA

Neither San Antonio Stars nor Connecticut Sun have had a great start of the season. Stars are currently 6th in the West (0-6), whereas Sun are 5th in the East (1-5).

San Antonio Stars, as previously mentioned have lost all of their 6 games played. New York Liberty (73:64), Washington Mystic (89:74), Phoenix Mercury (72:78), Dallas Wings (82:94), Minnesota Lynx (80:66) and Atlanta Dream (77:70) were all to strong of an opponent for San Antonio. The problem with San Antonio is their inconsistency, as they can dominate a quarter, but completely disappear in the next one and lose their lead. Despite their terrible record, San Antonio did put up a good performance against Atlanta Dream on Wednesday. Yes, Stars did lose, but they played decently. This team probably won’t go far this season, unless we see a huge improvement until then we will have to wait and see.

Tonight’s visiting team is in a similar position than San Antonio, but they did manage to get a win against Chicago Sky (79:97). With that, they are holding a 1-5 record so far. Winning against Chicago was a nice change of pace for Sun, the fact that they won by 18 points only makes it that much better. But to be fair, Chicago is not that good this season neither (1-6). A win is still a win, but it’s not as impressive if you win against the 2nd worst team in the league.

Matches these two teams played this season did not end well for them, so we can expect some changes in hopes to save the season on both sides. Winning a match tonight will be important for San Antonio as well as Connecticut so I expect them to give their all. However I don’t see any side dominating, so we will most likely be looking at a close match. With that in mind, a 5 point advantage for the home side just might be enough to win their 1st match of the season in front of their own fans.

Prediction: San Antonio Stars +5.00 points
