We were succesfull with our first Ski jumping prediction yesterday, as seventeen years old Domen Prevc managed to beat Marcus Eisenbichler and win his first trophy. If there is enough interest in these kind of markets, we will continue posting them. Anyway, below you can read our prediction for the upcoming match between Köln and Augsburg.
Köln return home after a massive win in the regional derby over Borussia M’gladbach last week. They’ll look to continue the impressive start of the season and should be boosted by another sold-out stadium. Horn, Maroh, Lehmann and Bittencourt are all out as Stöger needs to improvise. Hector should play as a defensive midfielder, Rausch moving to left back, with Zoller the left winger. Köln should be confident that they can sneak in another win here. They’ve been very solid at home this season and will look to continue that trend. Stöger has insisted on a more aggressive approach when playing at home and that shouldn’t change against a probably conservative Augsburg side. Köln will look to put the guests under pressure early and often here.
Augsburg will need to continue dealing with a major injury crisis. Important players Koo, Caiuby, Callsen-Bracker, Finnbogason and Bobadilla are all unavailable. Hinteregger is also questionable, and if he can’t play, Kacar will be a forced selection at centre back. A 4-2-3-1 formation should be repeated by Schuster. Augsburg should be satisfied with a point from this match. The injury situation and their form don’t leave many reasons to be optimistic, but Schuster is known for being a good motivator. A cautious to even defensive approach can be expected, with defensive stability primary focus for Schuster. They should be patient and wait for potential chances against the run of play or through set pieces. Augsburg’s main problems right now are injuries. They did fairly well last week considering all the absentees, but will have to deal with most of them long-term. Coach Schuster has a tough challenge to maintain their form in the next few weeks.
Verdict & Prediction
Köln is enjoying a great first half of the season so far. The atmosphere in the team is excellent and the players should come into this match fairly optimistic about their chances. Another sold-out stadium should provide an additional spark. A must bet on home team!
