Both free and premium members had a successful day yesterday, as our free betting preview for the match between Tigre and Velez Sarsfield was a winning one. Anyway, we have already posted a free betting preview today(Watford v Brighton) and we will post some more a little bit later in the day.
Huddersfield are at full strength and are expected to roll out an unchanged line-up from their 1-0 win over Newcastle, having no new absentees. Four are sidelined, but none are missed, while the new signings of Hadergjonaj and Sabiri improve depth in the squad, however, neither look likely to start given the current form of the strongest 11, as any rotation could weaken. Having won both Premier League games so far, Huddersfield are in excellent spirits and come into the clash with plenty of confidence. They’ll feel they can make it three wins on the bounce here and have momentum behind them. Despite being at home they face a +0.5 handicap. A draw would still mean a very good start to the season, and is certainly a result they’ll feel is within their capability. Back to back clean sheets have been a solid platform for Huddersfield to build on, and it’s unlikely they abandon their principles this time round and play more openly, with a 2.25 total goals line reflecting this. They’d be happy to keep things gritty and grind out a result, sitting deep and countering if they get ahead. Only if they go behind will things become more open and expansive.
Southampton are only without van Dijk, which is proving less of a weakening as time goes on, but defensively they are still a little suspect without him. An unchanged and best available line-up is expected from their previous league outing, which earned a first win of the season. Lemina has overcome a cut leg and starts, while Gabbiadini should start ahead of Austin up front in a manager’s choice. With decent team news and coming into the game on the back of a win, Southampton will have some belief in the squad, but this is their first away game and will provide a stern test. On paper, they have a stronger squad than Huddersfield, but beating a -0.5 handicap will be no easy feat. A draw isn’t a disaster and would keep them unbeaten, but they’ll turn up looking to claim all three points. Despite being involved in a high scoring clash last time round, Southampton would be happier in a more cagey contest. They’ve generally been well organised this season and will feel if they stifle Huddersfield’s attack they can snatch a win. If they got in front they’d become more cautious, making the 2.25 total goals line very well placed, as aside from an early goal it could be very tight.
Verdict & Prediction
Huddersfield are in excellent spirits following a perfect start to the season with three straight wins in all competitions. They have real momentum behind them and an excellent attitude in the squad, which is determined to make use of this bright start and earn as many points as quickly as possible. They’ll genuinely believe that they can beat Southampton, and given their current form anything less might be considered a little disappointing. They won’t take anything for granted and will be fully motivated, knowing that even a draw that takes them into the break on 7 points is excellent.
