Ligue Two

Clermont v Metz – Ligue Two

March 7 2016, Stade Gabriel Montpied, 19:30 GMT+0

Today we will see a clash between two teams, who share the same amount of points (44) in France Ligue Two, meaning they are on 6th and 7th place. This match is of a high importance for both sides, as a win would mean the team that comes on top gets to be on 5th place, and just 2 points off the promotion zone. There was only one H2H match between these two, because Metz was a Ligue One team. In the previous match between these two there was no winner, the match ended in (2:2). Clermont seemed as they would win that fixture, but they lost a player due to red card in 63′ and that resulted in a goal form Metz in the last twelve minutes.

Clermont is coming from successive wins against Bourg Peronnas (1:2) and Niort (2:1), I will also mention, they won those games without leading scorer Famara Diedhiou scoring any goals. Diedhiou is above all other strikers in this league, with 20 goals and 8 more than 2nd placed striker he is a strong forward, which can cause problems to any goalkeeper. At home, Clermont lost only 1 out of last 11 games and 6 put of last 7. At Stade Gabriel Montiped they beat  Evian and Laval with a whooping (4:1).

The visitors, Metz are freshly relegated and are currently 4 matches without a win. They indeed did draw against Nancy (2:2) and it’s a good result, but on the other hand they lost to Nimes  and Le Havre. In the last match “Les Grentas” struggled against Brest (2:2) and it’s clear they are not in a good form.

Prediction: Clermont -0.25
Odds: 1.95 Pinnacle
