Brooklyn Nets v Atlanta Hawks – NBA Betting preview

This evening, we will see Brooklyn Nets hosting Atlanta Hawks at Barclays Center, New York, where they will hope to build on their recent win over Orlando Magic at this venue. On the other side, Atlanta Hawks are hoping to bounce back after an 18 point defeat against Charlotte Hornets.

Brooklyn Nets as mentioned before won their recent fixture against Orlando Magic. The match was quite interesting to watch, with teams exchanging lead several times in the course of 48 minutes and it was unsure who will go on and take the W until the final minutes of the last quarter. The Nets team worked well together, with 6 of their players scoring double figures, and the superb work from their bench, who combined 64 points in total which helped them take down Orlando Magic. Despite that coach, Leny Atkinson was not entirely pleased with how Brooklyn played the match. He stated he was not happy how Brooklyn played on both ends and will need some time to adjust to the new rotations. Nets, in the end, won with a final score of 126:121, but Atkinson is sure, they can perform better. The star of the match was without the doubt Vucevic for Orlando, who scored career-high 41 points and added 12 rebounds, Fournier scored 22 points for his team, with Booker, Caroll, and Russell at 3rd spot with 17 points.

Today’s visiting team, Atlanta Hawks won their opening match against Mavericks. It was a thrilling match, to say the least with Atlanta managing to pull away in the last quarter after a poor performance in the 3rd quarter. Atlanta was ahead of Mavericks by 11 points going into the 2nd half, but let Mavericks catch up to them in the 3rd quarter, letting them shot 61.9% from the field and 60% from the 3pt line. Luckily Hawks bounced back in the last quarter with good defence and superb work from their offence, shooting 63.6% from the field and 63.2% from the 3pt line. Sadly they failed to perform against Charlotte Hornets, who despite trailing by 10 points by the end of 1st quarter managed to bounce back and win by 18 points (109:91). Atlanta seemingly ran out of ideas in their last encounter and were unable to stop Hornets at their venue. The top scorer of the match was Walker with 26 points, followed by Schroder (25pts) and Kaminsky (21pts).

Verdict & Prediction

Regarding team news, there is not a lot to say, except injury of Jeremy Lin in Nets opening match. He will sadly be unable to play this season. On the bright side, his surgery was successful. These two teams do not come off as a top-tier team, and they sadly aren’t. Hawks showed how quickly they can go from a 2 digit lead to losing it all in a quarter, as they just run out of ideas what to do. On the bright side, their defence is solid. As for Nets, they play a quick-paced game but fail to produce, mostly due to lack of any exceptional scorers on their roster. Taking all into consideration, we expect this to be a match ending in under 222 points in total.
