Brighton v Reading – England Championship

March 15 2016, Falmer Stadium, 19:45 GMT +0

It has happened before, that a team was nearing the top of the league but then failed, it has happened for today’s home team Brighton, Middlesbrough, Derby, Sheffield etc. The only team in my eyes that is not effected by pressure is Burnley.

Today’s hosts are seeing much needed improvement lately.  The season started very well, as they were running the league, but then came the bad form, which caused no wins in 7 matches (0-3-4), it lasted through December and 1st half of January. Since then Brighton showed more personality and bounced back with only 1 defeat in the last 10 matches (6-3-1) and are currently on 4 games without a loss. Looking at that form makes Brighton 2nd best team in England Championship, after Burley.

The home side is coming from a draw against Sheffield Wednesday (0:0) and another draw prior to that against Preston (0:0). The wins against Leeds(4:0) and Bristol (0:4) were both high in goals so it’s clear that hosts boast a strong attacking line.

Reading has had better seasons than this one, after all they are at 15th place, 8 points above relegation zone and 21 points behind today’s opponents. the “Royals” are coming from a loss against Huddersfield  and being knocked out of FA Cup  by Crystal Palace (0:2).

As for missing players Heinemeier and March are missing for home side, whereas Kayal and Greer might return. Cooper, Tshibola are missing for visitors, Evans and Kermorgant might return.

Reading is a weak team and I believe Brighton has a great chance to win this one, also the odds are more than fair!
