BOLOGNA v CARPI – SERIE A
March 6 2016, Renato Dall’Ara Stadium, 140:00 GMT+0
Both of those teams were in Serie B last season and managed to climb to Serie A. Carpi was 1st in Serie B, whereas Bologna was 4th at the end of the season and had to come through play-offs.
Despite that the tides have changed this season. Carpi, who advanced with no problem is facing a real problem of being relegated once again. On the other hand Bologna, who had some troubles coming into Serie A can be without any worries about being relegates, as they are in a safe 9th place. Actually they are 13 points from 5th place and 12 points ahead of relegation zone. I guess we could say they are safe in the middle of the table.
The “Rossoblu” are undefeated in the last 4 matches, as well as in last 4 home matches. At Renato Dall’Ara stadum, Bologna sent home Juventus (0:0) and Fiorentina (0:0) with only 1 point, which is great accomplishments for a recently promoted side. Today Bologna players are facing Carpi once again. The last fixture ended in a win for Bologna (1:2).
Carpi is in a terrible form, especially when it comes to away games. The away side has not tasted victory on the road in the last 7 matches, or in other words since late November. Since then they managed to accumulate only 3 points. There is no doubt they are in a lot of trouble and it might be too late to fix the damage. I would not be surprised if Carpi ended up in Serie B once again.
Looking at missing players, Bologna is not missing any player, whereas Carpi will play without Martinho, Gnahore and long term injured Bubnjic and Fedele. As for Mbakogu, Sabelli and Pasciuti they might join the squad.
Prediction: Bologna -0.50
