AC Milan v Lazio – Italian Serie A

March 20, San Siro, 19:45 GMT+0

Milan did in fact only draw against Chievo last week (0:0), and well.. I do not have any excuse for them, they did not show any kind of will or better yet any real performance that would result in a win for them. With 61% possession, they only managed to shot once on the opponent’s goal. It was a disappointing performance for them and Sinisa Mihajlović sure is not happy with the way his team is performing lately. Prior to that draw, AC Milan has lost to Sassuolo (2:0), where it seemed they just gave up after conceiving 1st goal, even getting the second goal with a man advantage.

I must mention, both of the defeats came from road games, where Milan does not really shine. At San Siro stadium, there is a different story. Milan is playing very well when in front of their own fans. In the last 5 home matches 4 were won, against Fiorentina (2:0), Inter (3:0), Genoa (2:1) and Torino (1:0). All of those teams are arguably better travellers than Lazio who had not won in the last 5 away matches.

Rossoneri will only miss Niang and Kucka going into this match, whereas Montolivo is back to help with midfield.

The visitors, Lazio are as mentioned bad travellers, not being able to defeat neither of the teams they played in the last 5 matches. Games against  Torino, Frosinone, Genoa, Udinese and Bologna all ended in just a draw. When we take a look in matches played outside of Serie A, the“Eagles” were defeated by Sparta Praha at home! This must be one of the worst performance by Lazio in a long time. Taking that into consideration, their confidence surely suffered. If that is not enough, Lazio will also miss Kishna, Milinkovic, Konko, Basta, Radu and de Vrij going into this match, so their squad is weakened. On the positive note, Bisevac is back with his team, whereas  Djordevic and Balde are questionable.

I believe AC Milan has a great chance to get back up and start winning. This chance is given to them today against out of form Lazio, who has not convinced me, not one bit going into this match.

Take AC Milan to win this one, as they would surely not want their fans leaving the stadium angry.
