On 7th of July, we will see San Antonio Stars hosting Connecticut Sun in hopes to build on their 1st home win in last 7 games, but that task will be far from easy, as they are facing a team that is currently at the 2nd in the East.
The visiting team, Connecticut Sun are currently 2nd in the East, with a record of 8-7. The record itself is not exceptionally good, but on the other side, Eastern Conference teams are much closer to each other on the table, compared to Western Conference, where the dominance from Lynx and Sparks is clearly seen. As of now, Connecticut Sun are on a 2 game winning streak, with 3 wins in the last 5 games. They won over NY Liberty (89:94), Seattle Storm (96:89) and Indiana Fever (85:91). However, Sun lost to Dallas Wings (96:82) and Los Angeles Sparks (79:87).
The home side, San Antonio Stars are having a terrible season so far, with only 1 win in 15 games played. However, the only win came on 1st of July against Chicago Sky (89:82). Maybe this win was what Stars needed to get on track, but it just might be too late for them to achieve anything spectacular this season. Some of their losses were close, but others were not even remotely close, so it’s safe to say it’s not the “bad luck” that is keeping Stars down, but rather poor performances on their part.
Verdict & Prediction
Some people believe the last win for Stars means improvement, but I do not see it. They simply do not come off as a team that can or will fight for a decent spot in the end. On the other side, Connecticut Sun are showing a completely different picture. They might not be strong championship contenders, but they surely have an advantage in tonight’s match. We recommend a bet on the visitors to win by more than eight points.
Prediction: Connecticut Sun -8.00 points
Odds: 1.94 at Pinnacle
